Things to do in Dubai this week including: Breakfast pasta, sky-high dinners, serious coffee and future-gen kids in lab coats!

Good morning Dubai! This week is serving pasta for breakfast, cheesecake above the skyline, and Arabic coffee with a side of actual history. You can learn the entire backstory of your morning brew, send your kids on a mission at the Museum of the Future, or pretend brunching at 50 metres is totally normal.

In today’s Local Scoop Dubai

  • Bottomless breakfast and serious espresso at Cucina

  • Dinner 50 metres up in the air at Dinner in the Sky

  • Arabic coffee and global brew culture at the Coffee Museum

  • Big ideas for small humans at Museum of the Future’s Future Heroes

Let’s get into it.

THE DUBAI DIGEST

What’s new, strange, or secretly genius in Dubai this week:

Dubai Metro Blue Line kicks off — with a record-breaker
Construction has officially begun on the Blue Line, and the Emaar Properties Station is set to become the tallest metro station in the world. Expect soaring ceilings and more selfies than train rides.

🤖 Dubai Metro now inspected by robots
The RTA is using AI-driven robots to inspect railway lines, replacing 2,400 man-hours with 700. Efficiency? Yes. Slightly dystopian? Also yes.

🍫 Dubai’s favourite chocolate just dropped a mango-popping-candy flavour
FIX Dessert Chocolatier is back with Time to Mango — a white chocolate bar stuffed with mango, passionfruit, and popping candy. Summer sugar rush: activated.

🌕 The Strawberry Moon showed off over Dubai
The lowest full moon in 18 years hit the sky this week. Missed it? You’ve got another shot... in 2043.

🌍 Global Village plans big for Season 30
New open-air markets, restaurants, and coffee spots are being added to Dubai’s favourite cultural theme park. The foodie lineup alone might be worth the trip.

🌴 Emirates makes flying to The Bahamas easier
Thanks to a new partnership with Bahamasair, you can now book flights straight through to Nassau, Freeport, or San Salvador with a single ticket from Emirates.

📲 New influencer rules land in Dubai
Making money from content? You’ll now need a business licence and a media licence. Good news: licence fees are waived for the next three years. Time to hit “post.”

SCRUMPTIOUS SCOOP

🍝 Cucina: Pasta for Breakfast? Obviously.

At Cucina, Italian food shows up early and stays late. Located at Marriott Palm Jumeirah, this easygoing spot rolls out handmade pasta, breakfast pizza shakshuka, and espresso strong enough to make your inbox feel less important.

Hit the Weekend Breakfast Club if you're hungry before noon. AED 120 gets you unlimited Italian breakfast, and for AED 150 more, they'll keep the mimosas coming. Chef Marco trained with Gordon Ramsay and built his reputation on fresh pasta and no shortcuts.

📍 - Palm West Beach, Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah
📅 - Daily | Breakfast Club: Sat - Sun, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
⏰ - 12:00 PM - 1:00 AM

LUXE OF THE WEEK

🍽️ Dinner in the Sky: Fine Dining, But Don’t Drop Your Fork!

This is not a metaphor. You’re literally strapped into a seat and hoisted 50 meters in the air to eat a three-course meal with your legs dangling and your camera roll filling up fast. Views? Unreal. Food? Better than you'd expect when you’re being spun over the skyline with beet hummus in one hand and your dignity in the other.

Pick your session, bring someone who won’t chicken out, and enjoy short ribs, salmon or pesto pasta while the city sparkles below. Ideal for flexy dates, milestone birthdays, or just reminding yourself you’re not boring.

📍 - Skydive Dubai, Al Sufouh
📅 - Daily
⏰ - Lunch & dinner sessions (2:00 PM to 11:00 PM)
💰 - AED 699 (Weekdays), AED 799 (Fri & Sat dinner)

ACTIVITY ALLEY

☕ This Museum Will Judge You for Using Instant Coffee

If your idea of “coffee knowledge” stops at ordering a flat white, this place is about to set the record straight. The Coffee Museum in Al Fahidi blends centuries of global caffeine obsession with everything from Ottoman pots and WWI-era brewing gear to Ethiopian coffee legends.

Entry is AED 10 and includes a freshly brewed cup of Arabic or Ethiopian coffee with dates. It’s part museum, part caffeine-powered history lesson, and the closest thing you’ll get to a cultural wake-up call.

📍 - Villa 44, Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, Dubai
📅 - Open daily
⏰ - 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
💰 - AED 10 (includes coffee + dates)

FRESH EXPERIENCES

🧠 Future Heroes at the Museum of the Future: No screens. No sugar. Just tiny humans doing big-brain things.

Part science lab, part obstacle course, Future Heroes is what happens when someone gives kids lab coats and a license to climb rocket towers. They’ll bounce on balance balloons, solve missions like mini Marvel agents, and earn badges for building, thinking, and outsmarting the grown-ups.

It’s fast, loud, and smarter than it looks. Also, they’ll sleep like champions afterward. Win-win.

📍- Museum of the Future
📅 - Open Daily
⏰ - 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
💰 - AED 159 per person (free for under 4s)
